Greentop Aldermen Meeting

The City of Greentop met for their regular meeting July 2, 2020 ,at 7 p.m. Aldermen Justin Ray, Steve March, Sam Tarr, and Kim Veach was present.
Mayor Charlene Long was absent, so Mayor Pro-tem Kim Veach called the meeting to order and asked for the Pledge to be recited.
Mayor Pro-tem Kim asked Martha to swear in the new Council members.
The City Clerk Martha Chapman swore in the two new council members, Steve March and Sam Tarr, who ran unopposed in the June election.
Mayor Pro-tem Kim asked for the minutes of the last meeting to be read. Sam made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Justin voted yea, Steve voted yea, and Sam voted yea. Motion carried.
George Zimmerman asked the Council, if there could be a street light placed on the corner of Highway 63 and Maple Way. Sam made a motion to order a street light be placed at the corner of Highway 63 and Maple Way. Justin seconded the motion. Justin voted yea, Steve voted yea, and Sam voted yea. Motion carried.
Sam made a motion the keep the Community Building closed until further notice. It will be discussed again at the Council meeting August 6, 2020. Steve seconded the motion. Justin voted yea, Steve voted yea, and Sam voted yea. Motion carried.
The Purple Heart Plaque will be presented to the City of Greentop July 13, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Courthouse in Lancaster. If any Veterans would like to attend, they are more than welcome.
Sam made a motion to pay the bills. Justin seconded the motion. Justin voted yea, Steve voted yea, and Sam voted yea. Motion carried.
