Schoonover, Oliver Medal at State for Schuyler County
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Schuyler County earned three all-state medals at the MSHSAA Class 2 state track and field meet May 22-23 at Jefferson City High School. Deacon Schoonover led the Rams with a third-place finish in the boys shot put, recording a throw of 15.82 meters. Schoonover also medaled in the discus, placing seventh with a throw of 43.41 meters. CENTRALIA, Mo. — Schuyler County qualified two athletes for the state track and field meet Saturday, May 16, at the MSHSAA Class 1 Sectional 2 meet at Centralia High School. Mason Oliver won the boys long jump with a leap of 6.64 meters. Deacon Schoonover advanced in two throwing events, placing second in the discus at 46.23 meters and second in the shot put at 15.75 meters. The top four finishers in each event advanced to state.
