NEMR Sponsors Local Students on 2026 FRS Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.
NEMR was proud to sponsor two local students on the 2026 FRS Youth Tour, an annual leadership and educational opportunity that brings together students from rural communities across the country for an unforgettable experience in Washington, D.C.
Representing NEMR was Charlotte Tallman of Downing, daughter of Erin and Trenton Tallman, and Brynlee Wesley of Queen City, daughter of Joshua and Maria Wesley. The students traveled alongside approximately 100 of their peers and several chaperones for a week of learning, leadership development, and exploration of the nation’s capital.
During their time in Washington, D.C., Charlotte and Brynlee toured the U.S. Capitol, met with staff from Congressman Sam Graves’ office, and visited many of the country’s most historic landmarks, including Mount Vernon, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Washington Monument.
The students also visited the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where they had the opportunity to hear FCC Chairman Brendan Carr speak about the communications industry and its impact on communities across America. Additional highlights included visits to several Smithsonian museums and a tour of Arlington National Cemetery.
The FRS Youth Tour provides students with a unique opportunity to learn about American history, government, and leadership while connecting with other young people from rural communities throughout the United States.
NEMR is honored to support local youth through programs like the FRS Youth Tour and congratulates Charlotte and Brynlee on being selected to represent their communities on this memorable journey.
