CALL TO ORDER – 6:00 p.m. 

President Jennifer Pantry called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 

 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA – 6:00 p.m. 

Kevin Wheeler moved, seconded by Wanda Homer to approve the agendaMotion carried 5-0. 

 

AUDIT REPORT – 6:00 p.m. 

John Gillum presented the 2019-20 audit report.  Schuyler R-1 is in full compliance with state and federal requirements. 

 

Wanda Homer moved, seconded by Kirk Newland to approve the 2019-2020 audit report.  Motion carried 5-0. 

 

Andy Akers moved, seconded by Kevin Wheeler to approve John Gillum                           for audit services for 2020-2021 in the amount of $8,450.  Motion carried 5-0. 

 

CONSENT AGENDA – 6:10 p.m. 

  1. Minutes of previous meetings (November 19 & 25, 2020)

Kevin Wheeler moved, seconded by Wanda Homer to approve the minutes of November 19 regular meeting.  Motion carried 5-0. 

 

Kirk Newland moved, seconded by Andy Akers to approve the minutes of November 15, 2020 special meeting.  Motion carried 5-0. 

 

Wanda Homer moved, seconded by Kevin Wheeler to approve the bills.  Motion carried 5-0. 

 

FINANCIAL REPORT – 6:16 p.m. – Tiffany Newland 

Total revenue is $466,817 and total expenses are $497,084 for the month of November, 2020. Kevin Wheeler moved, seconded by Andy Akers to approve the financial report.  Motion carried 5-0. 

 

PUBLIC COMMENT TIME – 6:18 p.m.  

A parent expressed he would like to see more people wearing masks at sporting events.

Wanda Homer moved, seconded by Kevin Wheeler to approve the Special Education Program evaluations.  Motion carried 5-0. 

 

  1. Approval of policies & regulations (P2115 & 6180 and R6190)

Kevin Wheeler moved, seconded by Kirk Newland to approve Policies 2115 and 6180 and regulation 6190. Motion carried 5-0. 

 

  1. cSubstitutes

Andy Akers moved, seconded by Kirk Newland to approve Kelly Kirkland and Brianna Grotts as additions to the substitute teacher list for 2020-2021.  Motion carried 5-0.

ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL – Katie Wayman – 6:37 p.m. 

November Enrollment PK-6: 338  

November Attendance: 96.28%

Programs  

  • Tutoring has been going well. We are doing the CACFP meals again this year.  
  • 13 students are participating in 5th/6th grade Campus Bowl.  

 

HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL – Kyle Windy – 6:39 p.m. – absent 

  • Enrollment numbers: Junior/Senior High    240 19/20 year      
  • Attendance for November:          95.64%  19/20 year      
  • Attendance for 1st semester:          95.68%  19/20 year   (96.34% last year) 
  • Attendance for 90/90 rule:          89.00%  19/20 year   (89.80% last year)

SPECIAL SERVICES DIRECTOR – Raven Weaver – 6:39 p.m.  

Schuyler R-1 School District is providing special education services to 

PK (3-5 yrs):  20 students 

K-6:  45 Students 

7-12:  27 Students 

The special education staff is communicating with parents when students are quarantined to continue to provide special education services.   

 

December 1 CHILD COUNT has been completed and submitted in core data. 

 

Special Olympics 

Due to COVID-19, Missouri Special Olympics is suspending all-in person competitions until 2021. Schuyler Special Olympics activities have been postponed until 2021. 

 

SUPERINTENDENT – Rick Roberts – 6:39 p.m.  

Interim Superintendent, Rick Roberts introduced himself and is getting to know the facilities and staff.  

 

REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION – 6:40 p.m. 

Wanda Homer moved, seconded by Kirk Newland to go into executive session as provided in Rs.Mo.610.021 (3, 13) (Personnel Issues).  Motion carried 5-0 by roll call vote:  Kirk Newland – yes; Andy Akers – yes; Kevin Wheeler – yes; Wanda Homer – yes; and Jennifer Pantry – yes. 

 

RETURN TO REGULAR SESSION 

 

ADJOURNMENT – 8:08 p.m. 

Wanda Homer moved, seconded by Andy Akers to adjourn.  Motion carried 

5-0.
