DONNA MAY (PRUNER) WELTE
June 12, 1949 – January 6, 2026
Donna May (Pruner) Welte, 76 of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joesph, Missouri.
The daughter of John Eugene and Zelpha May (Ruggles) Pruner, she was born on June 12, 1949 in Centerville, Iowa. She was a graduate of Kirksville High School in Kirksville, Missouri. On October 7, 1966 at the Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Danny Lee Welte and to this union three sons were born, John, Danny C. and James.
Donna is survived by sons, John Welte and wife, Angela of Greentop, Missouri, Danny C. Welte of Bonne Terre, Missouri and James Welte and wife, Shela of Springfield, Missouri; 20 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Sheryl Fabyanic of Lancaster, Missouri, Connie Roberts and husband, Mikel of Lancaster, Missouri and Brenda Barner and husband, Mike of Moberly, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; other family members and numerous good friends.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Danny on July 5, 2018; one grandson, D. C. Welte, Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Leanne Welte; one great grandson and one brother-in-law, Val Fabyanic.
Donna was a member of the Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, Missouri where she served as the pianist for a number of years. Donna assisted Danny as a Hunter Safety Education instructor and Concealed Carry Instructor. She was also a member of the Gideons as was Danny for 21 years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Mikel Roberts of Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Music will be congregational selections, soloist, Isaac Rude and soloist, Janel Rude. Special musical selections will be “Amazing Grace,” “What A Day That Will Be,” “What A Friend We Have In Jesus,” “In The Garden” and “Daddy’s Hands”. Pallbearers will be Maverick Welte, Malichi Welte, Mikale Welte, Mundan Welte, Matyus Welte, Malex Welte and Randall McCarty. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for East Center Cemetery. Burial will be in the East Center Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri.
