Jackie Ronald Oliver, 89 of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Downing, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri where he had been a resident since August 2022.
The son of Norman Roosevelt and Elsie (Collins) Oliver, he was born on January 6, 1934 in rural Glenwood, Missouri. He was a 1952 graduate of Queen City High School in Queen City, Missouri. On July 14, 1955 in Queen City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Maudie Virginia Havens and to this union three children were born, Jackie Ronald Jr., James Richard and Maudie Rhonda.
Jack is survived by his children, Ronnie Oliver and wife, Beverly of Glenwood, Missouri and Rhonda Ebert and husband, Brad of Downing, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Oliver (Megan) of Glenwood, Missouri, Matthew Oliver of Glenwood, Missouri, Christopher Oliver (Mallory) of Lancaster, Missouri, Brandon Ebert (Jennifer) of Columbia, Missouri, Benjamin Ebert (Lindsey) of Ottumwa, Iowa, Jacqueline Erwin (Travis) of Kirksville, Missouri and Brock Ebert (Kristine) of Kirksville, Missouri; twelve great grandchildren, Libby, Colin, Mason Oliver, Makinley Oliver, Edie and Olive Ebert, Emmy and Kami Ebert, Rory and Aidan Erwin and Abigail and Alex Ebert; 6 brothers and sisters, Joyce McCormick of Illinois, Robert Oliver (Gwenda) of Queen City, Missouri, James Oliver (Lynn) Kirksville, Missouri, Gerald Oliver (Cheryl) of Queen City, Missouri, Linda Baker of Queen City, Missouri and Patti Sparks (Mike) of Queen City, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maudie Oliver on November 7, 2022; one son, James Richard Oliver; siblings, Charles Oliver, Dorothy Dufur, Gene Oliver and Mary White.
Jack served his country in the United States Army during peace time before being honorably discharged. After returning from the service, he was a livestock farmer for many years in the rural Downing, Missouri area.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Larry Smith of Downing, Missouri officiating. Music will be special selections of “In the Garden” and “Man in Black”. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Oliver, Matthew Oliver, Christopher Oliver, Brandon Ebert, Benjamin Ebert and Brock Ebert. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site.
