Elmer Ray (Sonny) Cassiday, 74, of Princeton, Indiana, passed away at Linda E. White Hospice house in Evansville, Indiana, on Monday, October 12, 2020.

The son of Vernon Omar (Jack) Cassiday and Letha Faye (Aldridge) Cassiday. Elmer was born October 6, 1946, in Monmouth, Illinois. He attended Monmouth High School in Monmouth, Illinois.

Survivors include his children, Shelly Cassiday of Columbia, Missouri, Christopher Cassiday of Fulton, Missouri, Kevin (Charity) Cassiday of Princeton, Indiana, and a bonus daughter Nicki Zajac of Kirksville, Missouri; grandchildren Erin Babb, Ann’marie Nowark, Daniel Nowark, and bonus grandkids Kendall and Corbin; great grandchildren Lorelei Babb, Samuel and Stella Stapleton, and Genesis. Sister Tammy (Dannie) Buckallew and Sister-in-law Karen Cassiday; seven nieces and nephews, Dianna (Bryan) Boyd and family, Troy (Tiffany) Cassiday, Dawn (Jamie) Smith and family, Matthew (Kaylynn) Jackson and family, Jeffrey (Laramie) Jackson and family, Samantha (Jeff) Sharp and family, Dana (Shane) Garr and family, and Special friend Jane Zajac; and many other family and friends.

Elmer (Sonny) was proceeded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Lee (Peewee) Cassiday; two step sons Jimmy and Richard Hurley; and one bonus grandson Jackson.

Elmer served his country in the United States Navy, during Vietnam. After his service, he became an over the road truck driver for most of his life. Sonny enjoyed fishing and traveling. He also loved spending time with his friends and family.

Per Elmer’s (Sonny) request there will be no services.
