Marilyn Sue (Garrett) Wilson, 68 of Springfield, Missouri passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
The daughter of Charley Elson and Juanita Fern (Long) Garrett, she was born on February 3, 1956 in rural Scotland County, Missouri. She was a 1974 graduate of the Schuyler County School system. She was united in marriage to Robert Wilson on December 14, 1996 in Kirksville, Missouri. Marilyn was blessed to be the mother of three sons, Joshua, Dalton and Trisston.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Wilson of Springfield, Missouri; her children, Dalton Wilson of Springfield, Missouri and Trisston Wilson (Hope Wise) of Springfield, Missouri; one grandchild, Carson Wilson of Springfield, Missouri; sibling, Raymond Garrett and wife, Pixie of Orion, Illinois; brother-in-law, David Clark of Kirksville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Denise Wheeler of Memphis, Missouri and Dorothy Wilson of Springfield, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
She is preceded by her parents; one son, Joshua Veach; siblings, Arleta Miller, Sharon Clark, Clifford Garrett, Terry Garrett, Charles Garrett, Jr., Marridee Davis and husband, Sam and Gary Garrett; two nieces and three nephews.
Marilyn was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and her most precious title was Grandma. She was so proud of being a grandma. She loved her family time. She enjoyed being with her friends at the lake, camping or a music show and dancing. She was a top-grade seamstress and loved to cook, bake and craft. She worked many years at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Kirksville, Missouri before moving out of the area. She had a special way of making her nieces and nephews feel like her own. She will be truly missed by many.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Les Leftwich, Pastor of the Downing Baptist Church in Downing, Missouri officiating. Music will be special selections of “Keeper of The Stars” and “Supermarket Flowers”. Pallbearers will be Michael McNary, Billy Florea, Chris Piatt, Lonnie McCarty, David Clark and Robert Miller. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the family.
