JAMES ERIC FORD 

Nov. 15,1961 – Sept. 12, 2024 

James Eric Ford, 62, of Kirksville, Missouri, formerly of Glenwood, Missouri and St. Louis, Missouri passed away at his home on Thursday, September 12, 2024. 

James was born on November 15, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri to Gordon and Berniece Lavelle (Tallman) Ford. James graduated in 1980 from Schuyler R-1 High School in Lancaster, Missouri. James graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri with a Bachelor of Health Science in 1984. He received his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Missouri in 1990. James went back to school and received a Bachelor of Science in Information Management from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1999. James was employed at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri as General Manager of the pharmacy until 2013. 

James possessed a love and passion for learning. He would do research on any topic to educate himself and others. People would call him for information on a variety of topics, such as medical, gardening, baking, home improvements and politics. James enjoyed working in the garden. 

He was a member of the University of Missouri Alumni Association and a member of the Lancaster Christian Church. 

Survivors include his siblings, Lynn Fincher of Memphis, Missouri, Walter Ford and wife, Sande of Glenwood, Missouri, Pam Ford of Kirksville, Missouri and Vickie Pierce and husband, Joe of Greentop, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Jill Fincher of Jefferson City, Missouri, Robin Bartlett and husband, Michael of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Lindsey Fincher of Jefferson City, Missouri, Logan Ford and significant other Jen Darnell of Glenwood, Missouri, Madison Taylor and husband, Gregory of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Whitney Pierce of Columbia, Missouri and Courtney Pierce of North Hollywood, California; great nieces Kailey and Payton Bartlett of Excelsior Springs, Missouri and another great niece in December 2024; aunt, Vena Tallman of Lancaster, Missouri and many cousins and friends. 

James is preceded by his parents, Berniece Lavelle (Tallman) Ford on June 29, 2017 and James Gordon Ford on April 1, 2023; maternal grandparents, Ausitn and Wilma Tallman and paternal grandparents, Walter and Thelma Ford and one brother-in-law, Terry Fincher. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri with Brad Drummond officiating. Music will be special selections of “In The Garden” and “How Great Thou Art”. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Memorials have been established for Coatsville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri
