Sally Jo (Toney) Ayer, 61 of Glenwood, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. 

The daughter of Kenneth Oren and Nora Lou (Beeler) Toney, she was born on June 27, 1962 in Kirksville, Missouri. She was a graduate of the Schuyler R-I Schools. She was united in marriage to Randall Ayer and to this union two children were born, Janson and Amanda. 

Sally is survived by her significant other, Brad Hill of Glenwood, Missouri; her children, Janson Ayer and wife, Heather of Maple Grove, Minnesota and Amanda Ayer of Lancaster, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Owen, Katelyn, Jake and Norie Ayer, Darian Mullin, Keisha, Taeson, J’Miyha and Kyelen Dysart; one great grandchild, Lilian Ayer; one brother, Keith Toney and wife, Diane of Kirksville, Missouri and one sister, Melissa Van Dyke of Kirksville Missouri; nieces and nephews, cousins and many good friends. 

Sally is preceded in death by her parents, Kenny Toney on February 24, 2015 and Nora Lou Toney on January 7, 2018; one brother in infancy and one sister, Loutrisha (Trisha) Ann Toney on December 30, 2023. 

Sally was a member of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri where she attended as often as her health allowed. She worked as a cook at the Bonfoy Inn in Kirksville, Missouri followed by the Modernaire Café in Lancaster, Missouri. She was later employed for several years as an EMT with the Schuyler County Ambulance District until she was injured. Sally enjoyed collecting seashells and making crafts. She adored her time with the grandchildren and her dog, Ruby. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri with Bob Baker, Associate Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Music will be special selections of “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Pallbearers will be Taeson Dysart, Owen Ayer, Jake Ayer, Jeff Hill, Kendall Gray and Mike Ayer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darian Mullin and Gail Melvin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Memorials have been established for the Glenwood Cemetery. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
