Juanita Faye (Belcher) Gooden, 81, of rural Lancaster, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.
The daughter of Harrison Arthur and Estaline June (Darnell) Belcher, she was born on December 24, 1939, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri. On June 10, 1956, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Donald Gene Gooden, and to this union three children were born, Donna, Darrell, and Lisa.
Survivors include her children, Donna Gooden of Lancaster, Missouri, Darrell Gooden and wife, Debbie, of Lancaster, Missouri, and Lisa Gooden of Lancaster, Missouri; four grandchildren, Derek Gooden and girlfriend, Julie Behr, of Lancaster, Missouri, Colton Gooden of Lancaster, Missouri, Mindy Roberts of Lancaster, Missouri, and Melissa Huggins and husband, Warren, of Bondurant, Iowa; six great grandchildren, Cason Barker of Lancaster, Missouri, Hailey Roberts of Lancaster, Missouri, Jessilene Barker of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Ethan and Evan Huggins of Bondurant, Iowa, and Summer Robinson of Lancaster, Missouri; three sisters, Shirley Dean and husband, Robert, of Garden City, Missouri, Roberta Hamel and husband, Warren, of Bolivar, Missouri, and Junie Armstrong of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; other family members; and good friends and neighbors.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Gene Gooden, on October 7, 2008; one granddaughter, Stacey Gooden on March 16, 2012; three sisters, Ruby Benner, Melba Whitmer, and Carolyn Purish; and two brothers, Charles Belcher, Robert Belcher, and one brother in infancy.
Juanita and Donald were beef and dairy farmers for many years east of Lancaster, Missouri. She loved her farm animals and especially her goats! Juanita was also a cook at the Schuyler R-I School system for a number of years.
A visitation service was held on Saturday, February 13, 2021, between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund. Burial will be at a later date, as the body will be cremated and will be interred at the Hazel Dale Cemetery in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
