Shirley Ann (Martin) McAuley August 23, 1951 to July 18, 2020
Shirley Ann (Martin) McAuley, 68, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away at her home in rural Greentop, Missouri on Saturday, July 18, 2020.
The daughter of Teddy Woodrow and Mildred Florene (Bondurant) Martin, she was born on August 23, 1951 in Kirksville, Missouri. She was a 1969 graduate of the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John Gardner and to this union two sons were born, Leslie Robert and Christopher John. On November 22, 2014 she was united in marriage to Miran Wayne McAuley in Lancaster, Missouri.
Shirley is survived by her children, Leslie Gardner of California and Christopher Gardner and wife, Heather, of rural Greentop, Missouri; two grandchildren, Brier Crump of Queen City, Missouri, and Jacob Gardner of Lancaster, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Karter, Anna, and Wyatt Crump of Queen City, Missouri, and Charlie Gardner of Lancaster, Missouri; four sisters, Dorene Russell and husband, Jerry of Queen City, Missouri, Donna Small of Queen City, Missouri, Becky Howe of Novinger, Missouri, and Cathy Vincent and husband, Rick of Queen City, Missouri; one brother, Stanley Martin and wife, Marcia, of Lancaster, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Miran McAuley ,on April 22, 2017; her fiancée, Charlie Gardine; one brother-in-law, Robert Howe; her sisters’ fiancée, Richard Hitabidle; and two nephews, Gabe Small and Tyson Vincent.
Shirley was a member of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Kirksville, Missouri.
After living in California for several years following high school graduation, Shirley moved back to Missouri and was employed with Rider Drug for a number of years, and retired from that position due to her health.
Shirley enjoyed photography, gardening, her flowers, horses, and spending time in the kitchen. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren as they made her world go!
Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri, with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the services from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the family.
