With the theme “Bringing Queen City Alive in 2025,” Queen City, MO is preparing for another unforgettable celebration of community spirit and agricultural heritage during the annual Queen City Pioneer Days and Junior Livestock Show, held July 23-26.
The festivities kick off early at 11:00 a.m. with a Horse Show on Saturday, July 19, at the Downing Depot. On Monday, July 21, area youth will show off their canine and feline companions during the Dog & Cat Show at 9:00 a.m. On Tuesday, July 22, the evening will kick off with the Art Hall Judging and Knowledge Test at 4:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, July 23, families can take part in a classic Cake Walk at 6:00 p.m. before cheering on competitors in the Super Farmer Contest at 7:00 p.m. The 4-H/FFA Royalty Contest will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by an Open Talent Show, where participants can share their skills.
Thursday, July 24 is packed with livestock shows, entertainment, and great food! The Sheep Show will start early at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Dairy Bucket Calf/Dairy Show at 10:30 a.m. The Goat Show will begin at Noon, followed by the Poultry Show and Rabbit Show at 2:00 p.m.
Head on over to the Jr. Livestock Scholarship Fish Fry at 6:00 p.m. The Oldest Resident of Schuyler County will be announced at 6:00 p.m. Bring your babies out to the Baby Show at 6:15 p.m. This year’s theme is “Born in the USA” and registration ends at 6:00 p.m. Don’t miss out on the fun Ag related activities at 7:00 p.m.
The evening is capped off by live music from Raspberry Roots on the main stage at 8:00 p.m., with prize drawings to end the night at 10:00 p.m.
On Friday, July 25, the morning begins with the Swine Show at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Clover Kids Show at Noon. The afternoon features the Beef Show at 2:00 p.m. Community members can gather for the much-anticipated return of buffalo sandwiches, which will be served at 5:00 p.m.
This year’s Pee Wee Show will begin at 5:00 p.m. Don’t miss out on the Straw Scramble at 6:00 p.m. The Kiddie and Adult Pedal Tractor Pull will start off at 6:30 p.m.
That evening, the main stage features Donny Roberts & A Side of Country at 8:00 p.m., bringing a country sound perfect for a summer night. Prize drawings continue to reward attendees at 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 26, wraps up the celebration with a full slate of activities. A Buyer’s Breakfast starts the day from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The Homemade Pie Contest will start at 8:30 a.m. The Car Show will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with judging at noon.
Don’t forget to support the local youth at the Livestock Auction, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. The Tractor Games will also start at 10:00 a.m., followed by an Open Jam Session on the Stage at 11:00 a.m.
By afternoon, spectators can enjoy the Kiddie Parade, which will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the Grand Parade at 1:30 p.m. Kiddie Races will start at 2:00 p.m.
That evening, the community can enjoy a Pork Steak Barbecue at 5:00 p.m. and a Watermelon Eating Contest at 6:00 p.m. The Awards Presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Closing out the fair, the band No Apology takes the stage at 8:00 p.m. before the final prize drawings at 10:00 p.m. The exciting 4-H/FFA Dance at 10:00 p.m. will bring this year’s Queen City Pioneer Days to a close.
