For the second time this year, a wind turbine in Schuyler County has fallen.
Unlike the previous collapse in April, where the turbine nacelle broke off, the tower of this unit appears to have collapsed for unknown reasons.
Ameren issued the following statement:
“Sunday morning there was an incident with one of the turbines at our High Prairie Renewable Energy Center. Ameren Missouri immediately enacted our response plan and secured the surrounding area. There were no injuries. The facility is currently offline while we assess the situation. We will provide further information once it is available.
