Two New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Schuyler

The Schuyler County Health Department was notified of 2 new COVID-19 positive cases that had attended a memorial service at the Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri, on Friday, July 31, 2020.

The 2 new positives cases are Schuyler individuals between the ages of 60-65.

According to Kathryn Magers, RN, Administrator, our staff is working with individuals to determine direct contacts. Direct contact is anyone determined to have been within 6 feet for greater than 15 minutes. The Schuyler County Health Department staff is currently conducting a contact tracing investigation to identify close contacts of those individuals. Anyone identified, during the investigation as a close contact, will be contacted directly by the Schuyler County Health Department and given further guidance and recommendations.

If you attended a memorial service at the Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri, on July 31, 2020, between the times of 5 and 8 p.m., please monitor for symptoms until August 14, 2020.

We encourage everyone to take extra precautions when going out in public. Wear a mask, wash your hands often, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, practice social distancing of at least 6 feet, and most importantly, stay at home, if you are sick or not feeling well.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider:

• Cough

• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

• Fatigue

• Muscle or body aches

• Headache

• Loss of taste or smell

• Sore throat

• Congestion or runny nose

• Nausea or vomiting

• Diarrhea

Schuyler County currently has 2 Active, positive COVID-19 cases, and 8 recovered Cases.
