Schuyler County Second Confirmed Positive COVID-19
On June 9, 2020, Kathryn Magers, RN, Administrator for the Schuyler County Health Department, has confirmed the second positive case of COVID-19 in Schuyler County.
The Schuyler County Health Department has been notified that a second Schuyler County resident has tested positive for COVID-19. Currently, Schuyler has one active case and one recovered, based on Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.
The case is community-related, and the patient is being asked to self-isolate to decrease the risk of exposing others. (Note: community goes beyond county/city lines and can include surrounding counties and cities.)
The Schuyler County Health Department staff is currently conducting a contact tracing investigation to identify close contacts of that individual. Anyone identified, during the investigation as a close contact or at risk of exposure to this patient, will be contacted directly by the Schuyler County Health Department and given further guidance and recommendations.
The individual COVID-19 testing in Schuyler County since April 19, 2020, stands at 171 negative reported cases, as of Monday, June 15.
The state free testing program for COVID-19 has been regionalized across Missouri, thus Schuyler is included with Scotland and Adair Counties, and residents can be tested at any free testing sights in Scotland or Adair.
