Murphy Honored by Scotland Co. Hospital

Congratulations to Samantha Murphy, RN, the May Spirit of SCH winner at Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, MO. Sam is a Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional and she currently wears many hats. She is the Clinic Informatics Analyst RN, Dr. Davis’ Primary Nurse, Immunization/Vaccine Coordinator and works PRN in OB delivering babies!

In an environment where technology and patient care intersect, she serves as a steady and reassuring presence. No matter how busy or complex the situation, she is always there for us— ready to troubleshoot, guide, and educate with patience and clarity. Her ability to translate technical challenges into manageable solutions not only keeps our system running smoothly but also allows us to focus on what matters most: caring for our patients.

She approaches every question—big or small—with kindness and respect, never making anyone feel rushed or unsupported. Whether it’s stepping in during critical moments, or proactively improving workflows, she consistently goes above and beyond expectations.

Her commitment does not just solve problems—it builds confidence across the team. We know we can rely on her, and that sense of trust makes a meaningful difference in our daily work.

Sam started working at Scotland County Hospital in 2015 as a CNA and then as an LPN. In 2017, she started working as an RN. Sam is a 2012 graduate of Schuyler County High School in Queen City, MO. She went to Nursing School at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA. Sam and her five-year-old daughter live in Lancaster.
