JERRY RICHARD ANDERSON

Jerry Richard Anderson, 73 of Downing, Missouri passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.

The son of Max Richard and Anna Louise (Anderson) Anderson, Jerry was born on April 6, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri. He attended and graduated in 1970 from Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Roberta Elaine Ferguson on August 2, 1974 at the Memphis Methodist Church in Memphis, Missouri and to this union three daughters were born, Lacey, Lindsay and Lydia.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Roberta Anderson of Downing, Missouri; his daughters, Lacey Gottman and husband, Jeff of Greentop, Missouri, Lindsay Bowling and husband, Justis of New Cambria, Missouri and Lydia Anderson and husband, Reggie of Lovilia, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Tanner Gottman (Jess), Ty Gottman, Trace Gottman (Haylee), Jaden Bowling, Addison Bowling, Barrett Anderson and Hoyt Anderson; one great grandchild, Oaklee Gottman; one brother, Terry Anderson and wife, Lisa of Downing, Missouri; numerous cousins, other family members and many good friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry owned and operated Anderson Construction for many years and worked for many families in the Downing, Missouri and surrounding areas. He and Roberta were well known near and far due to their work ethics over the years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Jake Levett, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri officiating. Music will be special selections of “Daddy’s Hands” and “Angels Among Us”. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial services from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.
