North Central Electric Names New CEO

North Central Electric Cooperative has appointed Mike Scheib as its new chief executive officer. Scheib began his role Jan. 15, 2026, succeeding longtime CEO Loren Haines.

Scheib most recently served as CEO of Tri- County Electric Cooperative in Lancaster, Missouri, where he held the position since 2020. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the electric utility industry, beginning his career in 1999 as an apprentice lineman with Trenton Municipal Utilities.

After joining Tri-County Electric in 2009, Scheib advanced through leadership roles including line superintendent and manager of operations before being named CEO. During his tenure, he emphasized system reliability, workforce development and community engagement, while also participating in legislative advocacy efforts on behalf of electric cooperatives.

Scheib is a graduate of North Central Missouri College and has served on the Kirksville Regional Economic Development Board. He has also served as president of the Schuyler County Rotary and currently serves as vice president of the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives. Scheib is originally from Trenton and has three daughters living across northwest Missouri.
