Sidewalk (ADA) Improvements Scheduled in Schuyler and Adair Counties ADA Work Begins on Route M in Glenwood
HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, as early as June 9, contractor crews will start work on a sidewalk (ADA) improvement project in Schuyler and Adair counties. Initially, work will start in Glenwood in Schuyler county at the following locations:
Missouri Route 202/Route AA – from Fourth Street to Sixth Street
Route M – from Park Street to Third Street
Route M – from Locust Street to Hickory Street
This contract also includes three additional locations that are tentatively scheduled to be completed in the following order:
Schuyler County, Route W – From Second Street to U.S. Route 63 in Queen City
Schuyler County, Route K – From Fifth Street to U.S. Route 63 in Greentop
Adair County, Route V – From Redtail Hawk Lane to Frontage Lane in Gibbs
Throughout the project, motorists can expect the following traffic impacts at various locations:
Temporary closures of pedestrian facilities
Intermittent lane closures with a 10-foot width restriction at the location where crews are actively working
Short-term temporary road closures as necessary
Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control to guide traffic through the work zone. Workers will be present during daylight hours. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
This work is being completed as part of MoDOT’s initiative for compliance with the current standards of the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA). We ask that motorists please be attentive in work zones for their safety and the safety of highway workers. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur.
The $448,567 contract was awarded this year to Stanton Contracting, LLC of Kirksville, Missouri. This project is scheduled to be completed by December 1, 2025.
