COURTNEY MARIE (FRY) FREDERICK
April 23, 1976 – November 23, 2025
Courtney Marie (Fry) Frederick, 49 of Clarksville, Tennessee, formerly of Queen City, Missouri, passed away at her home.
The daughter of Gary E. and Christine Alice (Mueller) Fry, she was born on April 23, 1976 in Kirksville, Missouri. She was a 1994 graduate of the Schuyler County High in Lancaster, Missouri. On November 25, 1995 in Memphis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Joshua Frederick and to this union two children, Melissa and Gareth were born. After moving to Tennessee in 2018, she met her now fiancé, Richard Cottone who she is survived by along with his five children and one grandchild, Josie Mae.
Courtney is also survived by her mother, Christine Fry of Franklin, Tennessee; her children, Melissa Strunk and husband, Ethan of Queen City, Missouri and Gareth Frederick and wife, Carley of Lancaster, Missouri; two grandchildren; Deklan and Maevee Strunk of Queen City, Missouri; siblings, Kelly Vigil and husband, Christopher of Gallatin, Tennessee, Whitney Smith and husband, John of Franklin, Kentucky and Brandon Fry and wife, Tammie of Hendersonville, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Adam, Chrischianna, Christany, Gabriella, and Isabella Vigil, Easton and Payton Fry and Luca Smith; several cousins and other family members.
Courtney is preceded by her father, Gary E. Fry on March 16, 2014.
Courtney was employed by Liberty Elementary School in Clarksville, Tennessee as a behavioral specialist and was presently obtaining her bachelor’s degree at the Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee where she would have graduated from in May of 2026. Courtney made the Dean’s List every year for the last four years of college. The children she worked with at Liberty Elementary meant the world to her. She was always taking students under her wing and seeing the potential that each one had to offer.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the family with checks made payable to Melissa Strunk. A book will be placed next to the register book for friends and family to share a picture and memory.
