The Queen City Pioneer Days and Junior Livestock Show will take place July 24 through July 27.
Pioneer Days started off early on Saturday, July 20 with the Horse Show at 11:00 a.m. at the Downing Arena.
Monday, July 22 started off with the Dog and Cat Show at 9:00 a.m. at the Downing Depot.
The Art Hall Judging and Knowledge Test were held Tuesday, July 23 at 4:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, July 24, a Cake Walk will take place at 6:00 p.m. This will be followed by the Super Farmer Contest at 7:00 p.m. Registration for the Super Farmer Contest is at 6:00 p.m. The 4-H and FFA Royalty Contest will start at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. This will be followed by the Open Talent Show. Registration for the Talent Show is from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, July 25 will kick off with the Sheep Show at 9:00 a.m. The Dairy Bucket Calf and Dairy Show will start at 10:30 a.m. At Noon, the Goat Show will start, followed by the Poultry Show and Rabbit Show at 2:00 p.m.
Do not miss out on some great food at 6:00 p.m. at the Jr. Livestock Scholarship Fish Fry. The Oldest Resident of Schuyler County will be announced at 6:00 p.m. as well. First Prize will receive a rocking chair donated by Cajun Heating and Cooling. Runners up will also be honored. Call 660-234- 4905 or 660-665-1061 for more information.
Thursday evening, the Baby Show: “Fun in the Sun” will start at 6:15 p.m. Registration will end at 6:00 p.m. for this event. At 7:00 p.m. that evening, Ag Related Activities will take place and the crowd will be entertained at 8:00 p.m. by “Donny Roberts & A Side of Country.” Stick around until 10:00 p.m. for a Drawing for Prizes.
On Friday, July 26, the Swine Show will start early at 9:00 a.m. The Clover Kids Show will begin at Noon and the Beef Show will start at 2:00 p.m. Buffalo Sandwiches are back on Friday! Do not miss out on the Pee Wee Show at 5:00 p.m. and the Straw Scramble at 6:00 p.m. Kids head over to the Kiddie Tractor Pull at 6:30 p.m.
“No Apology” will be the stage entertainment at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Drawing for Prizes will start at 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 27, grab some food at the Buyer’s Breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A Pie Contest will start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The Car Show will begin at 9:00 a.m. with judging starting at Noon.
Come support the exhibitors at the Livestock Auction at 10:00 a.m. The Tractor Games will also start at 10:00 a.m.
A Jam Session will be on the Stage at 11:00 a.m. The Kiddie Parade will start at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, followed by the Grand Parade at 1:30 p.m. The Kiddie Races will begin at 2:00 p.m. Come fill your stomachs at the Pork Steak Barbeque at 5:00 p.m. Leave some room for the Watermelon Eating Contest at 6:00 p.m.
Awards will be presented at 7:00 p.m. and the stage entertainment for the night will be “Raspberry Roots” at 8:00 p.m.
Prices will be drawn at 10:00 p.m. and the 4-H and FFA Dance will start as well. Come out to enjoy the fun events, food, and to support the 4-H and FFA exhibitors at this year’s Queen City Pioneer Days and Junior Livestock Show!
