Schuyler County Boys Take Third, Girls Seventh At Scotland County Relays; Oliver, Applegate Lead Strong Showing
Schuyler County turned in a solid performance Thursday at the Scotland County Relays, with the boys finishing third overall with 90 points and the girls placing seventh with 34.5 points.
The Rams were led by a standout effort from Mason Oliver, who captured the 400-meter title and added a win in the long jump, while Asher Applegate delivered strong distance performances with a runner-up finish in the 1600 and a top-five finish in the 800. Schuyler also leaned on its relay teams, with the 4×400 group finishing third and the 4×800 placing third as well.
On the girls side, Schuyler found success in the hurdles and distance races. Jesslyn Herring led the way with a runner-up finish in both hurdle events, while Greta Schoonover added points in the throws and the relay teams contributed solid finishes.
