This past Friday, October 27th, the Rams found themselves in a unique position…at home. After finishing the regular season with seven wins and two losses, the Rams were in the top spot in their district, earning a first round bye during the district tournament. 

The Class 1 District 8 results for the season were as follows: 

#1- Schuyler Rams (7-2) 

#2- North Shelby Raiders (6-3) 

#3- Princeton Tigers with Mercer, Newtown- Harris (3-6) 

#4- Knox County Eagles (2-8) 

#5- Paris Coyotes with Madison (3-7) 

The Rams only job this past Friday was to wait to see who they would play next week as they awaited the results of the Paris at Knox game. When the dust settled the Eagles beat the Coyotes 50-36. Thus, the schedule for Friday, November 3, 2023 will be Knox County Eagles at Schuyler Rams and Princeton Tigers at North Shelby Raiders. The winners of these two games will face off for the district championship on November 10th. 

Other results now available at the end of the season are the season leaders in the different statistical categories. The Schuyler Rams were well represented in the top spots for Missouri 8-man football. (Note: there are 43 8-man football teams and 1,022 8-man football players in the state of Missouri.)

● Elliott Sevits, junior- Rushing Yards (1,293)- 4th place

● Mayson Humphrey, senior- Receiving Yards (1,227)- 1st place 

● Kale Windy, senior- Receiving Yards (605)- 23rd place (injured in week 6) 

● Mayson Humphrey, senior- Receiving Touchdowns (23)- 1st place 

● Kale Windy, senior- Receiving Touchdowns (10)- tied for 19th place (injured in week 6) 

● Mayson Humphrey, senior, Total Receptions (67)- 4th place 

● Connor Smith, senior- Total Yards (2,258)- 7th place 

● Elliott Sevits, junior- Total Yards (1,519)- 18th place 

● Connor Smith, senior- Total Touchdowns (40)- 8th place 

● Elliott Sevits, junior- Total Touchdowns (30)- tied for 17th place 

● Mayson Humphrey, senior- Total Touchdowns (24)- tied for 23rd place 

● Isaiah Arnold, junior- Total Tackles (100)- tied for 14th place 

● Isaiah Arnold, junior- Tackles for a Loss (11)- tied for 29th place 

● Gus Williams, sophomore- Sacks (4.5)- tied for 19th place 

● Mayson Humphrey, senior- Interceptions (5)- tied for 6th place 

The success of these players, and of the team overall, starts in the trenches as the Rams have dominated the line of scrimmage in most of their games this season. Come out on Friday, November 3rd to see if they can do it again as they look to get one step closer to their goal of winning the district championship.
